The house

The old Emerson house.

Our home on Crosstown Road began as the Emerson farm. Later it was the Adams house — Porter Adams, the aviation pioneer and a friend of Amelia Earhart — and then the Boyer house, whose family left the surrounding land to the state as Boyer State Forest. Up the hill, Béla Bartók spent the summer of 1941.
